The Katy Tea Party Patriots would like to send a special thank you to all of the volunteers and especially Mr. Kevin Price (host of The Price of Business, CNN Radio 610), Dr. Randy White (Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Katy), Mike Mastrangelio Col. (R) U.S. Army (Katy VFW Post 9182), Mr. Christopher Telschow, Debate Moderator, and our Master of Ceremonies, Mr. Sam Malone, who is a DJ and hosts a talk show on KHMX 740 AM. Because of these individuals’ contributions and candidate participation the event was a huge success.
The event was held at the Taylor High School Performance Art’s Center, and over 600 people were in attendance. Many candidates from other races in the area also attended the festivities in order to have a chance to meet with the local voters...
Dear Fellow Tea Party Patriots, This week there is forward momentum again in the health care debate.
Today the President rolled out his own version of a health care plan.
It is reported that if the Republicans filibuster, the Democrats will push the bill via reconciliation through anyway.
On Thursday, the President will meet with the leadership of both parties to discuss health care. So, that means, it is up to us, We the People, to make sure Congress knows we do not want the government to take over our health care.
We have several specific actions to take over the course of the week to keep the pressure up... ...Call, e-mail, or fax the targeted Senators and Representativeslisted here and tell them to vote no on health care. Ask them if they have signed the Declaration of Health Care Independence yet and let us know the answer.

Once your account is setup you purchase credits, which you use to send faxes. I bought 667 credits for $20 [1 credit=1 fax]. The step-by-step process is very fast. You choose recipients from a drop down list, compose your personal message, and you are done!]

Nullification - John Stacy [Dec 12 KC Hall, Houston]
Everyone, below are links to two types of nullification letters (two are specifically for Texas – my state, and two are generic letters. Nullification is the method by which a state asserts its right under the Tenth Amendment not to recognize Federal Law.
Nullification has been used most recently in 2007 by over a dozen states against George Bush to stop the use of the Real ID. It has been used by thirteen liberal states to stop enforcement of Federal Drug laws with respect to medical marijuana. We need to push as many states to pass laws to nullify the Federal Health Care Bill. You can identify your State Representatives, Governor, and US Congressional Delegation by going to the following site: http://www.congress.org/congressorg/dbq/officials/
Use the two appropriate templates for your situation. Also, I would suggest the following if possible:
Use your own form of stationary if you have some.
Make some changes in the letter so that it will not appear as a form letter – also it would not hurt to spell/grammar check and proof read again.
You can change the fonts or style of the letter. I try to keep mine to one page to fax.
Tea Parties all over the country are celebrating their one year anniversary. The Katy Tea Party celebrated this with their February 20th Candidate Debate and Forum.
The Katy Tea Party is a non-profit organization and received no outside funding. Our fixed operating expenses run approximately $4,000 per year (insurance and web hosting). The other expenses we incur that vary are printing and venue and equipment rental. For example the rental of the Taylor Performing Arts Center was approximately $1,700 (we did cover expenses plus some by auctioning table space to candates).
The Tea Party did not really get to a break even point in funding until this last event due to the fact that the purchase of T-shirts, signs, and flags were made possible by members loaning the Tea Party funds.
When members of the board have attended meetings of Tea Party Leaders in our state they have paid their own travel and expenses. In order to continue our education programs activites and rallys need the help of all of our members to keep this movement alive.
We would like to ask all of our members who can to make at least a $10 donation annually to keep the dream alive. We want our Tea Party to be in it for the long haul, 2012 and beyond.
We would like to kick off our second year of operation with a donation drive. For the first 100 people who make at least a $10 donation we will reserve a Gadsden Car Flag for you. We will announce dates and places where you can pick up your flag.
For less than the cost of one large pizza a year you can make a difference with our Tea Party.
Without these businesses our fight cannot continue. Please show your support and visit our sponsors - they are true patriots. More sponsors are being added, so please check back soon.
